Book Launch: Gord Hill's 500 Years Of Resistance
The 500 Years of Resistance Comic Book is a powerful and historically accurate graphic portrayal of Indigenous resistance to the European colonization of the Americas, beginning with the Spanish invasion under Christopher Columbus and ending with the Six Nations land reclamation in Ontario in 2006. Gord Hill spent two years unearthing images and researching historical information to create The 500 Years of Resistance Comic Book, which presents the story of Aboriginal resistance in a far-reaching format.
Camas Gala Fundraiser Potluck
At the beginning of March Camas launched it's direct donation scheme in the hope of getting a 100 people signed up to become monthly sustainers.
As it stands now we have five, we need a lot more, so the GALA PARTY/CAMAS-A-THON is a chance for people who wish to become monetary supporters to bring along their banking ...details and void cheques and we can start getting some sustainers signed up.
The night will also included food, music, CHEAP BEER, raffle/door prizes, big free box, and 30% off all used books.

The Devil's Club Community Apothecary is a herbal dispensary using locally harvested native and non-native medicinal plants. It is our way of encouraging people to become involved in their bioregion. At Camas there is a large cupboard filled with jars of hand picked herbs and reference books. The apothecary is completely volunteer run and all herbs are by donation. Come by and check it out!
