We are open every day:

"RESIST" - Documentary Film Screening and Fundraiser for the Unist'ot'en Camp

Wednesday, April 27, 6:30 - 10pm

We would first like to recognize that this event will be taking place on the traditional territory of the Esquimalt and Lekwungen (Songhees) people. As settlers occupying this land it is our responsibility to engage in actions of decolonization within ourselves and within our communities.

Join us for a screening of the documentary "RESIST: The Unist'ot'en's Call to the Land". RESIST explores issues Indigenous activists at the Unist'ot'en camp face as they occupy their traditional territories and block the construction of a multitude of pipelines. This is a call for support and solidarity from the frontlines to all of us here. We will have co-director, Eli Hirtle, introducing the film “RESIST: the Unist’ot’en’s Call to the Land”.

The documentary will be followed by a discussion period in which we will open the floor to questions, thoughts and experiences. Eli will take part and also speak about the current film he is working on. Please know that this is a safe space and we encourage everyone to join in discussion about the issues that this society prefers we keep quiet about. We cannot speak for the Unist'ot'en people so our answers to many questions will come from experience or we will direct you to the Unist’ot’en website. We encourage everyone to visit the website at unistotencamp.com or the facebook page at @Unist'ot'en Camp for more information.

- Please bring food to contribute to the potluck if you can!
- We will dedicate time to performances... If you have stories, poetry or music to share for the resistance we would love to have you perform!!
- We will be selling some art and jewelry with 100% of proceeds going to Unist'ot'en
- If you have food to donate to Unist'ot'en bring it as well! (Non-perishables only please)
